What does an EA DO?


Supports special needs children to achieve success
Accommodates students curriculum by knowing their strengths,
skills and even weaknesses to help them perform to the best of
their ability
Implements IEP accommodations and modifications (Individual
Education Plan)
Creating and bringing in materials for student activities (ie games)
Supervising lunch and outdoor routines
Assisting with devices student may posses
Cope with behaviour and support the student in how to manage it
Engaging and motivating the child through interests to curriculum
content
Observes student
Assists students with personal needs

How to become an EA
Posses an Ontario
College diploma in an
Educational Support
program at a
recognized
college/university.
Most programs range
from 1-2 years in
length.
