THE CURRENT LAY OUT.

MY LAYOUT:

QUIET SPACE:
Entering the
library you will
see a newly
added Quiet
Reading Area.
Additionally, I
moved the
periodicals
near the quiet
reading area
for easy access.

LEARNING SPACE
Directly in front of the library doors I would keep
the learning area. I would a projector and
projector screen that drops from the ceiling.
This space could accommodate 40 students.

FACULTY RESOURCES:
Located to the right of the learning space with clear view of the
library. This area is mostly unchanged except tables for faculty to
use for meetings or to lay out resources.

ADDITIONAL FACULTY RESOURCES/COPY

CENTER
I would consolidate
copy, lamination
tools, and workspace
in this location to
leave room for a new
technology area.

OFFICE SPACE AND CIRCULATION DESK

I like the central

location of our
circulation desk. I
would simply move a
few walls that
interfere with line of
sight

A TECHNOLOGY LAB
This is located next to
the circulation desk,
in order for students
to have access to
supervision and tech
support.

In this area students

could check out ereaders, and audio
books.

I would add additional

seating and quiet
space in
a previously unused
corner.

OPAC COMPUTERS: LOCATED IN COLLECTION

AREA

I like the idea of

computers dedicated
to OPAC so students
checking grades to
impede others
students from finding
books.

ACTIVITIES I WOULD LIKE TO SEE TAKE

PLACE IN THE LIBRARY:
Collaborative Learning Projects
Book Clubs
Department Meetings
Independent free reading before, during, and after school
After school programs
Student Congress Club (similar to debate)
Whole class lessons
