Infomercials

Even you can be a star of your own commercial

In this lesson we will create and develop our own
Infomercials as it pertains to Theater Arts and acting.

Health and Safety

Before we begin lets look at several rules and procedures to consider before we begin our class
activities.

Rules

Be considerate of others

If you do not know how to use something

ask

If you are sick, fatigued, or have a health

concern let the teacher know

All equipment must be checked out

There is absolutely a no tolerance for

abuse, harassment, or bullying

Do not run as we will be working with

heavy equipment
If any assistance is needed let the teacher
know.

Drink plenty of water and have fun

What are Infomercials

a television program that is a long
advertisement and that usually includes
people talking about and using the product
that is being sold

Brainstorm ideas of what type of

infomercial you would like to
create. You have 3-5 mins to
brainstorm in groups of 2-4 people.

We will now step away from the lesson and
play two games Sit Stand Kneel, and Freeze
Frame

Rules for activity

Be respectful
Follow rules
Respect others
Students with a physical disability will have a buddy for activity the entire time
Students with cognitive disability will have separate rules as follow:
Participate
Have fun
There are no rules

Sit, Stand, Kneel

Players will be in groups of 3people and will improv a
scene. One person must be standing, sitting, or kneeling.
If one person changes positions then there position must
be filled. I.E. if I go from sitting to standing one person
must sit.

Freeze Frame
Students can pick their scene or topic to tell a story through still frames. Each
player must hold their position before moving to the next scene or topic.

Now Lets Create

Students will pick groups of 2-4
people

Will use idea from brainstorm to

create infomercials

Infomercial must be between 2-5

mins.

Infomercials must be appropriate

Students can use props,

costumes, furniture, etc.
It is encouraged to be original

Stunts must be cleared by teacher

No foul language

Students will have a buddy for project

Students will be accommodated to actively participate in Infomercial
