Power Surge
-Sometimes too much power can be sent in a split
second, this is called a power surge.
-Or too much electricity can be used all at once and
the power will shut off.
-The power shuts off because our homes and
buildings are designed with circuit breakers.

Circuit Breaker
used as a safety device
instead of fuses in
buildings; used to prevent
circuits in houses and
buildings from being
overloaded

Fuse
a safety device which prevents appliances
from being ruined when circuits are
overloaded; a thin strip of metal which will
burn up if a large current goes through it
causing a break in the circuit.
