Answer: Yes this college have experienced a decline in enrollment.
2. What were some of the strategies that helped the school increase their enrollment?
. Answer: The college started some new programs like Trio Student Support which is a
funded program designed to provide free academic support and encouragement to

Community
College
Interview
Time: 11:58 A.M.
Name: Ms. Cynthia
1. Why is Tidewater Community College enrollment declining?
Answer: TCC enrollment is declining in my opinion because of Financial Aide
and their lack of communication. Also, the staff and faculty arent helping
students like they should. This is suppose to be a community college, but it
doesnt feel like its a community.
2. What is Tidewater Community College trying to do to fix the
problem with enrollment?
Answer: They arent trying to fix the problem because theyre so focused
on asking the faculty their opinion instead of the students who make this
school.

volunteer to be part of the TCC table event or be a TCC speaker who talks to high

bigger.
Assign task to all the volunteers. There should be two or three different volunteers
per week for the table event and one volunteer per week for the TCC speaker event.
Finding an expert at TCC who is good at planning new events so TCC students can
spread the word about the college.
Pick different places that attract large crowds for the TCC advertisement event.
Plan the setup of the schedule for the entire month of students who want to
volunteer. Have a plan of the table setup and the time the event will start. Also need
to make a schedule for the four different high schools that the student speakers will
attend.
Establish rules to make sure the TCC students are safe at all times.

BENEFITS OF AN
EDUCATION
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the
average weekly earnings of an employee with
an Associates degree is $792 ( Earnings and

Unemployment Rates by Educational

Attainment.)
As education increases, the unemployment rate
decreases, meaning that you are more likely to
find a job with an education
With a better education comes a better job and
better job can even give you better benefits

A diploma says more than what

you have achieved educationally, it
says that you are a person who
cares about your future and is
willing to work towards a better
tomorrow
A diploma is a great personal
confidence booster and can even
motivate your friends and family to
further their education

CONCLUSION
When it comes down to it, a college degree is only going to
better you and your options for your future. It may seem unfair to
some, but employers will, the majority of the time, choose
someone with a college degree over someone without one. Some
people may face the problem of not knowing which direction they
would take if they were to go back to school but with the help of
counselors and different professors, you can expand your mind
and maybe take a step out of your comfort zone.
