Consumerism
Consumerism is a movement directed to protect
the consumer and ensure that the consumer
gets the best return in exchange for the money
he spend.
The term consumerism is related to consumer
movement in the mid 1960 by the concern
triggered by Rachel Carson and Ralph Naders
auto safety investigation and by then US
President Jhon F Kenndedys effort to establish
the consumer right to safety , to be informed ,
to chose and to be heard

The concept prescribe that all goals of
business including profit , must be
realized through the consumer
orientation and generation of
customer satisfaction

3. Non availability of the product (Improper

4. Misleading through advertisement

B. Growth and Expansion of the public
Our country characteristic by the co-existence of the
public , private , joint and cooperative sectors.
There is lot of significance in the growth and
expansion of the public sectors in India. The most
important objective of the public sector
undertaking is the enhancement of consumer
welfare by increasing production , improving
efficiency in production supply, to ensure the
availability of goods and service at fair price, to
reduce market imperfection and to prevent private
monopolies, improve the distribution system
