HOW TO USE A

BILINGUAL
DICTIONARY?

1.- FIRST, select the correct section in

the bilingual dictionary.
In English- Spanish section the entries are
in English and the meanings in Spanish.
In Spanish- English section the entries are
in Spanish and the meanings in English.

2.- NEXT, use the guidewords at the

top of the pages to find the page where
your word is listed alphabetically.

3.- WHEN you find the Word on the page,

read the etire entry.

4.- AFTER THAT, check the spelling

of the Word in English.

5.- NOW, check the pronunciation

of the Word in English. It is written with
phonetic symbols.

6.- THEN, look at your Word and decide

what part of speech is, take into
account the context of the Word in
English.

7.- AFTER THAT, choose the

translation in the correct part of
speech that is closest to the meaning
in the English Word.

8.- FINALLY, look for extra

information like expressions and
examples that show how the Word is
used in a sentence.
