Cost Analysis

Description
The project we worked on in class
was to Design and figure out the cost
estimate for that shed, the shed
would be used for the Robocats for
storage and a working space. A
concrete slab would be better for
this shed because it is small and the
dirt we have in Texas. It wouldn't be
better to use because of the small
footprint and the cost of rebar and
concrete would come out t be not
that much. The use of Revit gives us
a realistic look at the shed. This
could be anadvantagement when
you propose something that you can
see rather than something you cant
see.

The Floor cost about $520.48, the majority

of the cost came through the concrete
which cost about $390. The walls came in
next with an approximate cost of
$6,575.56 and the most expensive piece of
the wall is the R-11 Batt insulation that
cost about $5,824. The next was the
opening which cost about $1,503.00 the
big piece of that was the door which cost
about $1,187.00 . The Roof cost about was
about $2,689.91 the biggest piece of that
was the Drip Edge which cost about
$1,771.65. The total cost was $11,282.95

Results / Conclusions
The part of the shed that cost the
most would be the Walls. I found that
the Roof was the biggest waste of
cost because when you put the roof in
it wouldnt make a difference what
the brand name of the products just
what it does and how good it holds.
Like I said if I used less brand name
paints and insulation then it would be
more cost efficient. I found most of
my supplies form Home Depot and I
chose to do my business there
because compared to Lowes it had
cheaper deals and better quality
goods. I used Excel because of the
math it shows of how much it cost as
a whole beside me just telling you
that it cost some fabricated number. I
wouldnt changed anything because
how it was built there was a way to
keep water out and heat out.
