Overview and History

A computer operating system is the most important software for a
computer. It manages the computers memory and processes all the
software and hard ware. A computer operating system converts binary
language to languages we can understand, and converts our commands
to binary for the computer to understand them.
The first computer was created in world war 2. the computers were
enormous and very slow. With the invention of the transistor in 1950
computers were easy enough to use that they were sold to the general
public.

How do they work?

The computer operating system is in charge of processor management, Memory

management, Device management, Storage management, user interface and application
interface.

The OS organizes all the applications, files, and folder in the computer

It provides Graphic User Interface (GUI) with the user and the computer.

The OS makes sure that all the applications running get the enough of the processors time
to run smoothly
