HISTORY
It is a reconstructed school, the first one was
built in 1935 and stayed until 2000.
One part of the school was finished in 2001.
Used to be an all Indian school.
Mrs. Emanuel has been at the school for 23
years.
In the early 70s the school was integrated and it
used to go up to the 8th grade. Currently the

HISTORY

Union Elementary School opened its doors to


students in September 1952. The consolidation of
three schools (Hopewell, Mount Hebron, and Harpers
Ferry) gave birth to Union Elementary School. Land for
the school site was purchased from Mr. and Mrs. Jonah
Sanderson. The new school began with a vibrant air of
interest and support from the school community which
has echoed down through the years.
