Definition

Gypsum is one of the few minerals evaporated.

Another example of such minerals are
carbonates, borates, nitrates, and sulfates.
These minerals are deposited in the sea, lakes,
caves and in the coat of salt because of the
concentration of ions by evaporation. When the
hot water or the water has high salinity,
gypsum changed became basanit (CaSO4.H2O)
or also into anhydrite (CaSO4). Gypsum mostly
white, gray, brown, yellow, and transparent.
