FLOW VISUALIZATION IN

INCLINED CO AXIAL JET

INTRODUCTION
Coaxial jets consist of two concentrically-
arranged jets exhausting together and
studies based on theoretical, numerical
and experimental arguments suggested
their resultant flow field could be used in
many practical applications.

TITLE:
A method for visualizing the mixing zone between two co-axial
flows in an ejector
AUTHER:
Philippe Desevaux
ABSTRACT:
This paper describes an optical method which allows the
accurate visualization of the mixing zone between two high-
speed flows inside an ejector. This method associates Rayleigh
scattering, laser induced fluorescence and image processing

CONCLUSION:

The flow visualization method described in this paper allows the

accurate visualization of the mixing zone between a supersonic
driving jet and a subsonic induced flow inside an ejector.
Furthermore, the image processing procedure used to extract
the mixing zone visualization (subtraction of images captured
successively) restricts the application of this investigation
method to stationary flow conditions.

ABSTRACT:
This paper describes an experimental study on dual-stream jets issuing
from coaxial nozzles inclined at 45 at secondary-to-primary jet
velocity-ratios of 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0. Two-colour laser-induced
fluorescence flow visualization

CONCLUSION:
inclined coaxial nozzles produce asymmetric flow
fields along the incline planes.
Vortex formation and pairing events occur
significantly earlier along the shorter nozzle length
than along the longer nozzle length as expected.
