quizzes, assignments, daily questions,etc

Tardies

All students are expected to arrive to class on time EVERY day.

Tardiness means that not only have you missed valuable class time,
but you are also distracting your fellow classmates.
The tardy policy is as follows:
1st tardy: (before 10 minutes) is a verbal warning as long as your entry has not
caused a disruption. If you enter loud and obnoxious you will be asked to leave
2nd tardy: (same conditions) however you will receive a lunch detention equal
to the amount of time in which you were late
3 tardies or more: referral to an administrator
Bathroom Policy

I am aware that there are times in which all people need bathroom breaks
BUT there are policies in place to insure that bathroom use is not excessive
The bathroom policy is as follows:
1.) NO ONE is allowed to leave the room for ANY reason during the first or last 10 minutes
of class time. DO NOT ASK!!
2.) No student is allowed to go to the bathroom during more than one class during the
week and at most (3) per quarter (no exceptions without a note from a medical
professional, not a parent)
3.) When you leave you MUST leave your cellphones in class with me, I will keep it until
you return (NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!)
Grading

Tests/Projects: 40%
Quizzes: 30%
Homework/Classwork: 20%
Notebook: 10%
Turning in Work

Late work: Work that was assigned to all students with a clear
deadline, and that a student failed to complete and turn in by
that deadline
I DO NOT accept late work for credit, late work is accepted for feedback
ONLY!!
Missing Work: Work that was assigned while a student was
absent and thus could not be turned in by the deadline.
Student must complete the assignment and return on the NEXT day the
class will meet.
Tests and Quizzes

You should expect a test at least once weekly. But there will
be several times when there will be two.
There are two types of quizzes in this class. The first type of
quiz is your warm-up quiz. Warm-up quizzes are announced.
The second type of quizzes are progress quizzes. They will
measure your understanding of the information we cover in
class. Progress quizzes are unannounced.
Tests and Retakes

Tests in this class carry the highest weight, therefore it is important

that students do well on tests to show mastery and maintain their
grade in this class.
Students are allowed to make up tests (not quizzes) under certain
circumstances. The makeup policy is as follows:
In order to take a makeup test, the student must have scored less than a
(70) on the original test (the maximum for makeups is 70)
The student must schedule and attend a mandatory review session during
office hours and complete any additional assignments given
Organization

Your notebook checks are random, however I expect your

notebook to remain in order throughout the entire semester.
Use the following order:
Your syllabus, Warm-up notebook, Unit Notes, Unit Graphic
Organizers/Foldables, Unit graded work
Notebook checks are done one time per quarter and they are
done at random. A student can only get two grades for a
notebook check, either a 10 or a 100.
Use of Classroom supplies

I understand you all are high school students and I expect you
to conduct yourselves as such:
When using my supplies, make sure you use carefully. What
we have us what we have and when its gone, its gone
Be sure to clean up after yourselves, we will not leave until
my room is clean
Since you did not purchase it is not yours leave all my
materials in my classroom
Exiting and Questions

The teacher not the bell dismisses class. Therefore, we will

leave in an orderly manner. If you are not seated and quiet
when that bell rings expect to stay with me until the entire
room is in order. And I am not writing passes. When you come
to my class have everything you need, you are not leaving so
dont ask.
