gyptian mythology is the collection of myths from


ancient Egypt, which describe the actions of the
Egyptian gods as a means of understanding the
world. The beliefs that these myths express are an
important part of ancient Egyptian religion.
LEGENDS

the god Geb. When Ra found out about this he was furious and
foreboded Nut to have kids for the 360 days in the year. Nut
was sad so she when to go talk to the god Thoth she conversed
him to help so then Thoth some how made five more days in the

MYTHS

form of ancient Egyptian culture from at least c. 4000 BCE (as
evidenced by burial practices and tomb paintings) to 30 CE
with the death of Cleopatra VII, the last of the Ptolemaic
rulers of Egypt. Every aspect of life in ancient Egypt was
informed by the stories which related the creation of the
world and the sustaining of that world by the gods.
FAIRYTALE

n the land of Egypt, land of the green Nile and the blue Mediterranean
and the rising sun, there lived a slave girl named Rhodopis. Rhodopis was
born in Greece, but had been kidnapped by pirates and sold into Egyptian
slavery. The man who bought her was a kind old man, but he spent most
of his time sleeping and never saw how much Rhodopis suffered at the
hands of his other servants, who made fun of her endlessly because she
looked different,. They made her do all their work while the old man
slept.
