Degrees of Adjectives

When we describe only one noun,


the adjective is in the positive
degree. The adjective is in the
simple form.

The house A is big.


When we compare two nouns,
we add er to the simple form
of adjective. The adjective is in
the comparative degree.

The house B is bigger than the house A.


When we compare three or more nouns, we
add est to the simple form of adjective.
We also use the before the adjective. The
adjective is in the superlative degree.

The house C is the biggest of them all.
