the elements or art and principles
of design.
Varietyis achieved when
the art elements are
combined in various ways to
increase visual interest
EMPHASIS AND FOCAL

Emphasisis defined as an area or


object within theartwork that draws
attention and becomes a focal point.
Subordination is defined as minimizing
or toning down other compositional
elements in order to bring attention to
the focal point.
