The objective of our work is to
automate the conventional
power hacksaw machine in
order to achieve high
productivity of work-pieces
than the power hacksaw
machine using solar energy.
The automated machine acquires two inputs from
the user namely the number of pieces to be cut
and the length of each piece that is required to be
cut.
The inputs are given by the user with the
Vice; The machine feeds the work-piece,
which is driven by a DC motor a An DC
motor is used to bring about the
reciprocating motion required for cutting
the work-pieces. There is a self-weight
attached with the reciprocating
mechanism to provide the necessary
downward force required for penetration of
hacksaw blade in to the work-piece.
Solar energy applies energy from thesunin the form
ofsolar radiationfor heat or to generate electricity.
Solar powered electricity generation uses eitherphoto
voltaicorheat engines (concentrated solar power).
A partial list of other solar applications includes space
heating and cooling throughsolar architecture,day
lighting, solar hot water,solar cooking, and high
temperature process heat for industrial purposes.
Solar technologies are broadly characterized as either
passive solar or active solar depending on the way
they capture, convert and distribute solar energy.
Ahacksawis a fine-toothedsaw, originally
and principally for cuttingmetal. They can
also cut various other materials, such as
plastic and wood; for
example,plumbersandelectriciansoften
cutplastic pipeandplastic conduitwith
them. There arehand sawversions and
powered versions (power hacksaws). Most
hacksaws are hand saws with a C-shaped
frame that holds abladeundertension. Such
hacksaws have a handle.
