Capital City of Inwa

(Ava)
King Thado
Minbya founded
the Inwa
Kingdom in
1365.
The new capital
was in a good
location, where
the Irrawaddy
and Myitnge
rivers meet.
It was also
centrally
located.
A canal was dug on two
sides, making it an
artificial island.
Inwa was capital
off and on for
almost 500
years, between
1365 and 1842.

The yellow on
this chart shows
the periods of
the Inwa capital.
King
Shwenankyawshin
built an exquisite
golden palace in
1511.
It was here.
This was the princess pool.
Not much is left.
