BBFC Research

What is the BBFC?

The BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) is a non-governmental
organization founded in 1912. They are charged with applying age
ratings to films, television programs, video games and other forms of
media. These ratings are based of the sort of content that is displayed
within the media, this includes language, violence, drug use and sexual
content. Their lowest rating is the U rating which means suitable for all
audiences, while the highest is R18.
Which BBFC rating will I be using for my film opening?

For my film I will be using a 15 as my film does feature the use of strong
violence when the the soldier (Beni) is shot by the Sniper (Noah).
However there is no reference to drug use within the opening and there
is also not a single reference or inclusion of sexual content. This would
bring up the rating to an 18, which while it is still within my target
audience it would stop a significant portion of my target audience from
being able to watch the film.
