WHAT ARE COLLEGE STUDENTS

ATTITUDE TOWARDS READING?

HYPOTHESIS
My conclusion on the answers from
the students is a majority of them do
not spend a lot of time reading more
than they just spend the time
skimming through the text.
METHODOLOGY
The participates in the survey were men and women college students at the
University of Cincinnati Clermont Campus who were randomly selected to take the
survey.

The survey was about their interest in reading and how their attitude is towards
reading.

They survey was conducted on April 18, 2017.

The participates where randomly selected and handed a survey to answer ten
questions about reading.
RESUTLS
60% said Yes they like to read. 30% said they sometimes like to read. And 10% said not

really.

40% own 0-10 books, 30% own 10-20 books, 20% own 20-30 books and 10% own more

than 30 books.

70% said no about getting books from the library, and 30% who said not very often.

60% said they read a novels lately , 20% said they read their textbooks, and 20% have not

read a book lately.

DISCUSSION

From looking at the results and reading the responses I have notice
that majority of students really enjoy reading why not so many do.
Also I was surprised how many do not get their reading from the
library either. What I can conclude from doing this research on
college students attitude towards reading is that most of them enjoy
reading novels other than their textbooks and other reading material.
WHERE DO I FIT IN?
I would say that I fit in probably with the 10% that do
not really like to read and with the 40% who own 0-10
books. I would say that I only care to read when I have
to read for class or for homework.
