Mercury
Quite a small planet, with its
diameter only 3,100 miles compared
to Earth at 7,926 miles.
The surface of Mercury is covered in
craters and its very dry.
Closest planet to the Sun.
Venus
Venus is a little smaller than Earth
with a diameter of 7,520 miles.
Venus is covered in clouds of water
vapor and is also the hottest planet
in The Solar System.
2nd planet from the Sun.
Earth
Diameter measures at 7,926 miles.
The surface is fragile.
Only planet that has liquid water and
can support life.
Mars
The Red Planet
Smaller than planet Earth.
Mars is covered in craters from
things like asteroids and meteorites.
Almost 43,000 large craters have
been found there!
Jupiter
300 times bigger than Earth with a
diameter of 88,700 miles!
Jupiter is the stormiest planet in The
Solar System.
Composed of dense layers of gas.
Home of the
Great Red Spot
Saturn
Second largest planet in The Solar
System.
Has three main rings.
Saturn has at least 18 moons!
Uranus
Cannot be seen from Earth without a
telescope.
One of the gas giants
Most of the center of Uranus is frozen
ammonia and methane which makes
it look blue!
Neptune
Has a diameter of 29,297 miles.
Gas Giant
Great ball of hydrogen and helium.
