BURNOUT

The term BURNOUT is usually


used to describe the feelings
associated with long term,job-related
stress.
Characteristics Of Burnout
Loss of motivation.
The development of negative
rather then positive attitudes
towards the job and towards
other people.
The development of a gallows
sense of humor or a loss
of sense of humor altogether.
A sense of a narrowing
choice of options.
A feeling that one is acted
upon rether than exercising choice.

1. Emotional Exhaustion.

Emotional fatigue.
Shutting off from others.
2. Depersonalization

Sense of alienation.
Others are viewd in a negative light.
Begins to dislike those people
previously worked with.
Negative attitudes towards
self and others.
Others learne to cope.
3. Reduced Personal Accomplishment

Feeling little achieving.


Inability to self assess.
Choose to leave the profession.
Seek work in a situation where
they can avoid other people.
