Martinis Bars Instead of GPAs?
Is leaving students in debt worth all the amenities that
campuses have to offer?
Colleges are left with huge amounts of debt after
building campuses to include waterfalls and movie
theaters with wine bars. Since university debt has doubled
from 2000 to 2011 students are now absorbing that debt
with higher tuition costs. Some believe that it is absolutely
necessary to provide these amenities and make students
as comfortable as possible, they feel it improves their
educational experience. Others feel that this has forced
students into higher debt and even excluded students with
certain financial backgrounds from attending these school
where they could otherwise pursue their major.
