Force as vector
Force is a vector quantity. To describe a force, we need to describe the
direction in which it acts, as well as its magnitude, which is a
quantitative description of how much or how hard the force
pushes or pulls, in terms of a standard unit of force. (Sears, Zemansky,
Young, 1981, p 18)
(Sears,
Zemansky, Young, 1981, p 18)

Unit of Force
Force can be defined in terms of the units of mass, length, and time. The SI
unit of force is the newton, abbreviated N. In the British system the unit of
force is the pound-force, equal to about 4.448 N. In the cgs system of units,
the unit of force is the dyne, equal to 10-5 N. (Sears, Zemansky, Young, 1981,
p 18)

Satuan Gaya
1981, p 18)
