Introduction
Cervical cancer - second most common cancer in women living in
less developed regions with an estimated 445 000 new cases in
2012 (84% of the new cases worldwide)

In 2012, approximately 270 000 women died from cervical

cancer; more than 85% of these deaths occurring in low- and
middle-income countries

From 2006-2012, the median age of cervical cancer diagnosis

was 49. However, older women remain at risk

More than 15% of new cases are diagnosed in women over 65.
Cervical cancer in women younger than age 20 is rare
CAUSE- Two HPV types (16 and 18) cause 70% of cervical cancers
and precancerous cervical lesions
Goals

To determine Incidence ,prevalence ,fatality and

mortality rates for the distribution of cervical cancer in
Georgia during the period 2002-2009
Materials and Methods

The data obtained is from National centre of disease

control (NCDC) of Georgia
Materials and Methods
Methods :

Incidence rate is number of new cases per population at risk in a

given time period

Period prevalence is the proportion of the population with a given

disease or condition over a specific period of time

Case fatality rate (CFR) is the proportion of deaths within a

designated population of "cases" (people with a medical condition),
over the course of the disease

Cause specific mortality rate, , is a measure of the number

of deaths due to a specific cause in a particular population, scaled to
the size of that population, per unit of time

Incidence rate is highest in Racha lechkhumi and kvemo svaneti , lowest
in Kvemo kartli
Prevalence rate is highest in Shida kartli , lowest in Samegrelo

Georgia
Gender specific cause specific mortality rate has increased from 9% in
2002 to 11% in 2009 and has remained the lowest in the year 2005 (1%)
in Georgia
Gender specific incidence rate has peaked in the year 2004 (26.7 per
