AKBAR KHAN
INTRODUCTION
Akbar Khan was born on 16 August 1962 in a Muslim family
to Kistoor Khan, a farmer and Rahmat Begum, a housewife,
at Bangasar, located in the Indian state of Rajasthan.

He was born visually impaired (blind).

He succeeded in the higher secondary examination with first


division from the DAV School, Ajmer. In the year 1982, he
passed BA with first division with Sanskrit Literature,
Sociology and Indian Vocal Music.
GREAT DEED
He excelled in his studies and was the first
visually impaired candidate to qualify in the SSC
Hindi shorthand and stenography examination.
A Senior Manager with a national bank, Khan is
also a singer and composer with many stage
performances and over 50 music compositions.
He has been invited in the panel of judges at
national level music competitions for visually
impaired persons.
RECOGNITION
Akbar Khan received the National Award for
the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities in
1989.
He was honored by then President of India
His Excellency Shri R. Venketraman in Vigyan
Bhawan, Delhi.
