“For Those Who Run”

Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe

Pastor Kerry Wilson
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• What Shall This Man Do, posed the question in our
current series of sermons. It was a question relative
to you. You have been called, you have accepted the
call and now how will you respond to the gospel. We
opened last week with the parable of The Ten
Virgins found in Matthew 25, we established the
imperative of having “oil” in your lamps. We
established the norm of sleeping. However when
the call to awaken was given, the condition of your
life will dictate your response.
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• We saw that the lack of a personal relationship
brought the foolish to a frantic state. To know the
past and have lived in the present has brought us to
a reality of God, but what about the future. Many
are living from the past and are discouraged in the
present. You must realize Divine Authorization
dictates the generations of God’s dealings with
man. We are in a “time” of Decree, God has created
the environment that we live in so that He can show
Himself strong.
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• God raised up Pharaoh according to Romans the 9th chapter so
that He could destroy him and show His power to His people. In
the natural eye the story of captivity and bondage become
detrimental to the eternal plan of God. How can we bring God
glory in this current estate that we are in?
• Doctrine, Stewardship, Origin and Purpose are all in religious
confusion with seemingly no way to break through the outer
man and reach the inner man.
• Pharoah and those characterized by him throughout history are
“ vessels of wrath fitted for destruction”. The false prophet, the
antichrist, men in history who are stereotyped by these ancient
spirits.
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• We “the church”, the outsiders, unlikely
characters with no past, no religious
traditions, no history with Yahweh have now
been chosen and called the children of the
Living God. “The riches of His glory on the
vessels of mercy” This isn’t an accident but in
the eternal plan of God, we need to see so
that we can understand the glory of the
Church.
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• This static state of the church for the past decades
has brought criticism and cynicism from the
gainsayers and discouragement in the ranks.
However it has produced exactly what God
intended in the realm of “desperation and desire”.
The cries of desperation for our condition and the
seemingly unfair position of the world and their
dominance. This desperation toward deliverance
has made us aware of the “time” that we are living
in.
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• Only now in the history of man has the stage
been set by travel, communication and people
to spread the news of the gospel and disregard
the agenda of man. The agenda of Jesus in the
prayer of John 17 is revealed inside of unity and
the gospel by reaching out to the lost.
• This cry for the “latter rain” for harvest has been
initiated by God to prepare us for our roles as
individual members of the Body of Christ.
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• What happens when time is random and
people are eating and drinking and lose track
of what God is doing, or even contract a deistic
view of God based on his absence.
• They lose their vision, When God’s people are
awakened by time, then God reveals or renews
the vision for that generation. The cries have
been heard and now it’s time for deliverance
and direction.
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• This vision has been written, the Bible book of
Habakkuk reveals this protocol, cries are being made,
Jerusalem and Judah are ripe for destruction and
reproof. He is watching and waiting for an expected
answer. God reveals the Chaldeans as His instrument,
Habakkuk is not happy about a heathen nation being
used as a reproof. God renews his vision and
instructs him to write it and make it plain so that
those who are in the race or journey can refer to it
and continue to run without discouragement.

Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• Habakkuk 2:3-4 (New King James Version)
• 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
      Though it tarries, wait for it;
      Because it will surely come,
      It will not tarry.
       4 “ Behold the proud,
      His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith.
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• Many of us have had our vision marred by
living in the past and trying to reckon the
present. God knows the “rest of the story”, and
He wants us to embrace the rest of that story
to have our vision renewed and strengthened.
• The supernatural fulfillment of this vision is just
about to fall upon us. It has been birthed, it has
went through what seems to be a death and
now it is about Time for God to show up.
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• What is the “rest of the story”?
• Job 42:5 (New King James Version)
•  5 “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear,
But now my eye sees You.
• 10And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his
friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
• Psalm 126
•  1When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them
that dream.
•  2Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing:
then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for
them.
•  3The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe

• The rest of this story is mandated by the

ability to see things the way that God sees
them. It is called vision….
• “Where there is no vision, the people are
unrestrained” (paraphrased from Proverbs)
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• When we think of vision we think of seeing or
our eyes. Remember that we see through our
eyes not with our eyes. We actually see with
our mind.
• The mindset of the individual and the church is
what is at stake. We need to get our minds
right in order to “ see” what God wants us to
see. How are you running? How are you
seeing?
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• A Living Sacrifice to God
•  1 And so, dear brothers and sisters,[a] I plead with
you to give your bodies to God because of all he has
done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice
—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the
way to worship him.[b] 2 Don’t copy the behavior and
customs of this world, but let God transform you
into a new person by changing the way you think.
Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which
is good and pleasing and perfect.

• 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (King James Version)
•  3For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after
the flesh:
•  4(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but
mighty through God to the pulling down of strong
holds;)
•  5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that
exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and
bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience
of Christ;
“For Those Who Run”
Part 16 Cultural Catastrophe
• There are two dangers in this area I want to
make you aware of
• 1. Reprobation
• 2. Deception
• These have to do with leaving our mind
unguarded and our vision not aligned with
God.
