Born on 11 February 1847 in
Milan ,Ohio.
In1879 he made the first
practical electric bulb.
In 1889, he formed Edison
General Electric

Thomas Edison died on October
18,1931 at the age of 84.

SAM WALTON

Sam Walton was born on March 29, 1918, in


Kingfisher, Oklahoma.

Samuel Moore Walton was born to Thomas


Gibson Walton and Nancy Lee.

He married to Sen Robson and has 4 children.


Early life
He did various things like milked the cow, delivered news
papers to meet financial needs of his family.
He graduated from David H. Hickman high school.
Walton joined J C Penny as a management trainee where
he was paid $75 per month.
Walton joined the military in the U.S. Army Intelligence
Corps, supervising security at aircraft plants and prisoner
of war camps. He eventually reached the rank of captain.
First Walmart

The first true Walmart opened on July 2, 1962, in Rogers,


Arkansas.
By 1976 Wal-Mart was a publicly traded company with share
value worth of $176 million. By the early 1990s, Wal-Marts
stock worth had jumped to $45 billion.
In 1991, as the country was mired in an economic downturn,
Wal-Mart increased sales by more than 40 percent.
n 1985 Forbes magazine named Walton the wealthiest man in
the United States.

Theodor Seuss Geisel
Theodor Seuss Geisel better known as Dr. Seuss
was born on 2nd March,1904 in Springfield,
Massachusetts.
Dr. Seuss died in 1991 at the age of 87 and left
behind a legacy of wonderful childrens book that
are still read and loved today.
There is a library in San Diego, California that is
named after him.
He attended Dartmouth College and used to sign
his articles by Seuss which was both his
middle name and his mothers maiden name.
He went to Oxford University to please his father
and it was here that he met his wife, Helen Palmer.
His childhood memories were very much a part of
the characters he created throughout his work.
His Books
Dr. Seuss was 33 years old when he wrote And
to Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street.
In 1957, he published The Cat in the Hat.
A friend of Dr. Seuss bet him that he could not
write a book using only 50 words so he wrote
Green Eggs and Ham and won the bet.
One Christmas while looking into the mirror, he
realised that he had lost his enthusiasm so he
wrote How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Dr. Seuss wrote books about issues that he
thought were important and so he wrote Horton
Hears a Who, Yertle the Turtle, The
Sneetches and The Lorax.
