WHAT IS DAC?

WHAT IS NEED OF DAC?

TYPES OF CONVERTORS
It can be used with ADCs and DACs Combination.
Example: audio signal processing
Motor Controlling
Oscilloscopes
It can be used with filter to gain continuous and
smooth output.
The bit inputs are switched between 0 and Vref value
as shown in fig(i).
Based on digital inputs, analog value of voltage is set.
We can get stepped value of Voltage.
Resistors are connected in voltage divider manner.
This DACs use weighted values of digital inputs
Weights are proportional to the bit positions of inputs.
DISADVANTAGE OF THIS DAC:
Precise value of resistance must be used for accurate
analog value of output.
Values of capacitor considered as binary weights.
Two phase clocks are used to control switching
between capacitors.
Eref is used to make switching between binary values.
Value of Current decide the binary output
More preferable than voltage source type DACs
Amplifier serves as voltage to current convertor also.
