General Classification
Camel is animal of desert which has big body and strong body.
These animal can be found in dry region such as desert in Asia and North
Africa. Camel can travel long distances without food and drinks at all in
the middle of a hot desert. It can happen because they can store their
reserves food in the form of fat on its hump. Their unique foot makes
them easy to walk on the thick sand in the desert. They also have thick and
long eyelashes to help them see in the middle of a sandstorm.
Description
There are two types of camels in this world. The first is the
Arabian camel. They has a unique characteristic that has one hump on his
back. Arabian camel or also called as dromedary can be used as peoples
transportation in the desert and also can be food sources. The second is
the Bactrian camel which has two humps. Bactrian camel can be found in
the Gobi Desert region of China, Mongolia, and Australia. Similar with
one humped camel, Bactrian camel can also be used as transportation and
a source of food.
Two Types of Camel :
1. Arabian / Dromedary 2. Bactrian
The Difference
The Dromedary Camel
lives in the deserts of
North Africa and the
Middle East,
is also known as the
Arabian Camel, or Ship
of the Desert.
Basic Info can be used as peoples
transportation in the desert
and also can be food
sources.
The Camel Has Anatomy
broad feet that help when
traveling on sand,
a short coat (brown to dusty white),
a strong, tough mouth for eating
desert plants,
double rows of eyelashes,closeable
nostrils, bushy eyebrows, and fur-
lined ears to keep out sand,
the ability to carry up to 990 lbs,
and the height of 6-7 feet.
Water Facts
The Camel Can
drink more than 20 gallons of
water in 10 minutes (which
would kill most other animals),
and then store the water in its
bloodstream for up to 2 weeks,
go 5-7 days with little or no
food and water,
and store large amounts of water in
its bloodstream to metabolism.
