A little picture of me and my sisters.

At the beginning of this project I did not know much of
anything about Salmonella typhi, but since then I have
learned quite a bit.
Information that needs to
be discovered:

What disease does your bacteria cause?

What is its scientific name?
What is the morphology of salmonella typhi?
How does it react to gram staining?
What are the oxygen requirements?
Under what conditions of temperature and pH
does salmonella typhi grow best?
Is salmonella typhi motile?
Things I would like to know
about Salmonella typhi:

What are the symptoms?

How is it treated?
How do you get infected with
salmonella typhi?
Salmonella typhi causes typoid fever.
Its scientific name is Salmonella enterica typhi.
Enterica referring to the intestinal.
a scientific name or binomial nominclature is used to name
different species.

Salmonella typhis morphology is enteric bacillus.

enteric -> intestinal bacillus -> rod shaped

Morphology is the study of words

oxygen.

Typhoid fever is contracted mostly form
third world countries where there is not a
lot of personal hygiene, sewage systems,
or clean water.
It is transferred from person to person or
by contaminated food or water.
People carry the bacteria in their intestinal
tract and blood stream.
Also spread from people not washing their
hands.
Typhoid fever is treated by taking
a vaccine. Some are ampicillin,
ceftriaxone, and chloramphenicol.

Its recommended to get

vaccines before you leave for a
3rd world country to prevent
getting typhoid fever.
The most effective prevention is
good hygiene and public
sanitation.

people in the
U.S. each year.
