DISCUSSION

Besides burning Fossil Fuels, How else are personal

vehicles contributing to Global Warming? Who’s fault
is it that so much Green House gases are emitted?
IS IT THE DRIVERS FAULT OR IS IT THE CITY’S
FAULT?
BOTH: IT IS THE CITY’S FAULT AND THE DRIVER’S FAULT!
Driver’s Fault: Engine Idling releases more GHG than
when driving
Driver’s Fault or the City’s Fault  YOU DECIDE.
So, What can be done to decrease the
Greenhouse Gas Emissions from
Transportation?

Mass transit is more efficient, cheaper and sometimes
faster, but Malaysians love their cars, so the million
dollar questions are:

What’s Cool?
• Tall Enough to allow cars to pass underneath it
• Short Enough to pass under overpasses

What’s not Cool?

• Decreased congestion, means reduce in car
ownership: opposite of what we want
What System Will Work for
Us?
Home
Work
Parks
Entertainment Centers (movies, theater, restaurants etc )
Government buildings
Shopping (both food and other types)
Keep in mind that the goal of the public transportation
system is to get people to within a few blocks of the place
they want to go without using a car
