 I chose the Revised edition cartoon because it shows the teacher scared.

It tells the
story of why he needs to pray. He would like to pray to his “God”, whoever that may
be, for his own safety and probably everyone else’s safety. But because there are
dash cams and it’s during school activities, he is not allowed to pray. He would like
an exception.
 This case was brought by a father who had 3 children in Elementary School in
Alabama. Alabama at the time, 1981, had a statute (16-1-20.1), that authorized a 1
minute period of silence in public schools “for meditation or voluntary prayer”.
The father stated that 2 of his children had been subjected to various acts of
religious indoctrination. His children were ostracized if they did not participate. 1
 After several appeals, the US Supreme Court found that it was the desire to return
to government promotion of prayer in schools and struck down the statute. 2
 Because they added “voluntary prayer” to the statute it made it unconstitutional
under the First Amendment.
Be Careful What You Wish For!! A Kids Interpretation of Praying
 The law to me, makes sense. I am for no prayer in schools. I would not want them to
go to school and say a prayer to another “God”. If my children want to pray during
their moment of silence, that is up to them. I would not like any other religion
practiced/taught during school

 I think the teacher needs to say a Silent Prayer to him/herself. The law states that
you can a moment of silence, what you do in that moment is up to you. Or pray
before the child arrives for the lesson.
