The Temple is dedicated to


Lord Shiva.

The temple faces towards the
east.

The Vimana 216 ft high is a 13


storeyed structure and is the
main attraction above the
Sanctum.

There are two flat roofed


Mandapa infront of Vimana.

Vimana is taller than


Gopuram.

The cube of Garbhagriha was


carried vertically upto a
height of 50ft.

The portico housing the


sculpture of the holy Nandi
bull is situated along the same
axix but detached from the
main temple.
There 8 seperate temples in the dierction that
are dedicated to the sentinel of that direction-
Indra, Agni, Yama, Nirti, Varun, Vayu,
Kuber and Ishan.

The temple complex is built on the banks of


Grand Anaicut river.

At the centre of Sanctum, there is two idols of


Lord Ganesha in the corridor.

The main entrance Gopuram being 30m high is built according to the
Dravidian Style of architecture.
At the entrance of Sanctum, there is two idols of Lord Ganesha in the
corridor.
