GSM to UMTS Handover / Summary
Flexible HO algorithm, prepared for different customer aims,
especially:
- HO to UMTS as soon as possible or
- HO when the UMTS pathloss is smaller than the GSM pathloss
- HO to high priority UMTS cells (Hierarchical Cell Structure HCS)
UMTS cells can be used to save a call in areas with low GSM coverage
