Landsat 8 Satellite System
• The LDCM mission was launched on February 11, 2013 from VAFB,
CA
• Orbit: Sun-synchronous near-circular orbit
• Altitude = 705 km
• Inclination = 98.2º
• Period = 99 minutes, repeat coverage = 16 days (233 orbits)
• LTDN (Local Time on Descending Node) equator crossing time is at
10:00 hours.
• All instrument source data will be quantized to 12 bit resolution
• The ground tracks will be maintained along heritage WRS-2 paths.
