ANALYSIS

• In January 2001, UNICEF cooperated with AusAID and

NATCOM supported the implementation of Peace Edcation
Curriculum in Aceh for promoting non violence action,
peaceful conflict resolution, awarness of human rights, and so
on due to the effect of conflict that had been going for years
in Aceh.
 WHAT IS THE RESULT?
• The implementation of this program has run
well due to solid coordination with schools
and government officials.
• Positive feedback from both student and
teachers.
• Knowledge gained on peace issues
• Increased understanding of Islam and
Acehnese culture, and their teachings on
peace
• According to the UNICEF, this program
appears to be highly successful in its early
stages. Continued efforts to institutionalize
the curriculum and to implement an
evaluation plan will increase long-term
success.
