FEV1/FVC = ratio of forced expiratory volume in the first second to the forced
vital capacity; PEF = peak expiratory flow; DLCO = diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide; TLC = total lung capacity; RV = residual volume; FRC =
functional residual capacity.
