AFTERTASTE

Re-Edit
Georgia Wheeler
Introduction
Once I edited the first draft of our short film, it was crucial to receive
audience feedback from our target audience in order for our film to be the
best it can be. Due to already targeting our audience beforehand, it was easy
to establish who it was we needed to show the film to in order to receive
constructive critism and re-edit the film based on audience feedback.
Change 1 The first change we made in our
re-edit was the dinner scene.
The reason I changed this is
because we felt we needed
different camera angles for it to
be a better successful film. For
example, instead of just a mid-
shot of the characters sat at the
table, we used different close up
shots of the characters having a
conversation with someone off
camera. The reason for this is so
the audiences can fully establish
the characters facial expressions
and body language without
having distractions of other
characters on screen.
Change 2 The second change I made to
AFTERTASTE was the scene where
Blake is pacing up and down
showing his anger towards Amber
and Maddie. To change this scene, I
added audio over the top of music
with relatable lyrics as when
shooting Blake repeated words
often which may encourage
audiences to stop watching as it
got boring. Although there is music
over this scene, Blake’s dialogue
can still be heard to still give
audiences an insight in how the
character is feeling.
Change 3 Similar to the second
change, I also changed the
packing and leaving the
house scene by adding audio
over the top. The reason for
this is because our script
showed that Blake needed
to be asleep throughout
meaning both characters
needed to lower their voice
so adding music will keep
the audience attracted to
the film as when showing
our target audience the film
before they lost attention to
this scene.
Change 4
The fourth change I
made to our short film
was the credits. The
reason I changed the
credits from names
fading in and out to
rolling credits was
because professional
short films and
Hollywood films use
rolling credits so we felt
our film would look
professional adding
credits that roll.
