1. Excuse me. Is there a grocery store around here?
Yeah. There's one right across the street.

Sorry. I don't live around here.
3. Where's Tanner's Leather Shop?
It's on the corner of Holly and Vine. Next to the
library.
4. How do you get to the bank?
Go straight down this street for two blocks. Turn left
when you get to Maple Street. Stay on Maple for half
a block. It's on the left hand side.
EXAMPLE:
Scenario:
Andrea doesn’t know how to get to the post
office. She goes to a police officer to ask for
directions.
Andrea: Excuse me, can you tell me how to get to the post office?
Police Officer: Sure. It’s not far from here. Walk straight ahead until
you get to Main Street.
Andrea: Sorry to interrupt you. How many blocks is that?
Police Officer: It’s about two or three blocks. It’s the first traffic light
you come to. When you get to Main Street, turn right
and walk one block to Broadway. Then turn left and go
about half a block.
Andrea: which side of the street is it on?
Police Officer: coming from this direction, it’ll be on your right side. It’s
in the middle of the block, next to the Sweets Ice Cream
Shop. You can’t miss it. Do you want me to repeat any of
that?
Andrea: no, that’s okay. I’ve got it. Thanks a lot
Police Officer: you’re welcome
