Katy and Kenji are meeting each other for the first time.
• Katy: Hi, I’m Katy. What’s your name?
• Kenji: Hello. My name’s Kenji. It’s nice to meet you.
• Katy: Nice to meet you too. Where are you from?
• Kenji: I’m from Japan.
• Katy: So, what do you do Kenji?
• Kenji: I’m a teller at the Bank of Osaka. How about you?
• Katy: Well, I’m a Montessori teacher.
• Kenji: Wow! Do you like it?
• Katy: Yes, I do. I love working with children – they’re a lot of fun.
• Kenji: What do you like to do in your free time?
• Katy: Hmm. I guess I like playing tennis. I also like to cook. How about you? Do you
have any hobbies?
• Kenji: Not really, but I enjoy exercising and sometimes I go to karaoke.
Instructions:
o For Practice 5, they will note the examples given and make
their own introduction for any chosen person.
o Students must present their work in paper and speech.

Example 1
Linda is my friend. She’s Irish. She is from Ireland. Her full name is Linda Maggie Brogan.
She lives in Kamakura. She is an English teacher. She works in Shinagawa. Linda has three
brothers and three sisters. In her free time, she likes to play golf, listen to classical music
and do crossword puzzles.

Example 2
My friend’s name is Jonathan Lewis. We call him John. He lives in Florida. He is from the US.
John is a student at the University of Florida but he works as a part time chef at Florida
Grill. John has a younger brother but no sisters. In his free time, he likes skateboarding and
practicing new recipes in his kitchen.
