Rigid Polyurethane Foam

by Greencon
What is Polyurethane Foam?

Rigid polyurethane foams are utilized wherever

energy losses must be forestalled, in this way
limiting CO2 discharges. Thus, the fundamental
circles of use are in low-and high-temperature
protection.
Types of Polyurethane

• Flexible polyurethane foam

• Rigid polyurethane foam
• Coating, Adhesives, Sealants and
Elastorms(CASE)
• Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)
• Reaction injection modeling(PIM)
• Binders
• Waterbone polyurethane dispersions
Rigid and Flexible Foam
Rigid foams are mostly used in building
insulation, appliances, transportation,
packing, furniture, food and drink
containers.

Flexible foams are used in furniture,

transportation, bedding, carpet,
underlay, textile, sports products, shock
and sound attenuation.
Components of Polyurethane
• Isocyanates
• Polyol
• Catalysts
• Silicon Surfactant
• Fire retardant
• Blowing agent
CHARACTERISTICS OF PU
FOAM
High mechanical strength
• Light in weight yet regid & sturdy
• Structurally strong & dimensionally stable
• High compressive and flexural strength.

Economical
• Lowest 'K' value among all insulating material
• High moisture resistance
• Permanent and long-lasting insulating
• Saving of electricity
Easy to Apply
• Easy to handle and quick to install
• Can be easily cut by saw or sharp knife
• Excellent adhesive properties-can be laminated to most
rigid or flexible materials
• Dose not soak, Swell or buckle in moisture

Longer Life
• High ageing resistance
• Dose not attract rodents and other pests
