Pregnant: capacity that is 500 to 1000 times greater total vol : 5-20L, organ weight 1100gr
enlargement : hypertrophy of muscle cells , elastic tissue , <12 weeks stimulated by estrogen and
progesteron?, >12 weeks mechanical distention by the products of conception > placental site
enlarges more rapidly
early pregnancy : fallopian tubes and the ovarian and round ligaments attach only slightly below
the apex of the fundus
later months : slightly above the middle of the uterus
