The human

skeleton model
INTRODUCTION
The human skeleton is the internal
framework of the body and it is
divided into two parts known as
the AXIAL and the APPENDICULAR.

The axial consists of the central

core of the skull, spine and ribs.

The appendicular is composed of

SKELETON
The human skeleton performs six
major function and they include:
1.Support
2.Movement
3.Protection
4.Blood cells
5.Storage of minerals
6.Endocrine regulation
SKELETON
Skull
The skull is a bony structure that forms the head in most vertebrates. It
supports the structures of the face and provides a protective cavity for
the brain. The skull is composed of two parts: the cranium and
the mandible.
SKELETON
Shoulder Girdle

The shoulder girdle or pectoral

girdle is the set of bones in
the appendicular skeleton which
connects to the arm on each
side. In humans it consists of
the clavicle and scapula; in
those species with three bones
SKELETON
Arm

The bones of the arm have the

important job of supporting the

upper limb and providing

attachment points for the

muscles that move the upper

SKELETON
 Chest

The thorax or chest is a part of the anatomy of humans and various other
animals located between the neck and the abdomen. The thorax includes
the thoracic cavity and the thoracic wall. It contains organs including
the heart, lungs, and thymus gland, as well as muscles and various other internal
structures.
SKELETON
 Spine

The vertebral column, also known as

the backbone or spine, is part of the

axial skeleton. The vertebral column is

the defining characteristic of a

vertebrate, in which the notochord (a

flexible rod of uniform composition)

Pelvic Girdle

The pelvic girdle is a ring-like

structure, located in the lower

part of the trunk. It connects the

axial skeleton to the lower limbs.

The bony pelvis consists of the

two hip bones (also known as

SKELETON
Leg
The human leg, in the
general meaning, is the entire
lower limb of the human body,
including the foot, thigh and even
the hip or gluteal region. However,
the definition in human
anatomy refers only to the section of
the lower limb extending from
the knee to the ankle, also known as
SKELETON
Foot
The foot (plural feet) is
an anatomical structure
found in many vertebrates.
It is the terminal portion
of a limb which bears
weight and
allows locomotion. In
many animals with feet,
the foot is a separate organ
at the terminal part of
CONCLUSION
Anatomical differences
between human males and
females are highly
pronounced in some soft
tissue areas, but tend to be
limited in the skeleton.
In general, female skeletal
elements tend to be smaller
and less robust than
corresponding male
