Locomotor Movements
Dancers using locomotor
movements may walk, run,
skip, hop, jump, slide,
leap, or gallop.. These
movements may be high
(possibly indicating joy),
medium, or low (possibly
indicating sadness.)

Non-locomotor Movements
Dancers are using non-locomotor movements when
they stay in one place but bend, stretch, twist, or
swing their body.
A. AB (two part form)

• The simplest of the sequential forms


• Similar to a verse and a chorus of a song
• Binary form with two contrasting section consisting
of a beginning section (A) followed by a second
section (B)
A. ABA (three-part form)

• Composed of:
Introductory theme (A)
Contrasting theme (B)
Restatement of the original theme (A)
Theme and Variation
Collage
