Sensation

Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell
in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the
beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
Sensory systems
• *It is through our sensory system: visión ,hearing,,taste, smell, and touch that
we experience and interact with the enviroment outside our bodies .

• *Our sensory organs: eye, ears, nose, tongue, skin – contain receptors that

allow us to phisically process the information we are constantly receiving
from the world around us .
• *vision: is one of the most important sense. For sighted people is the most
importante sense about 70 percent of information reaching the their brains
comes from visión.
• *sound: our brain response to light waves activating receptors in our visual
sensory system so too are the sounds we hear created in our brain in
response to external stimuli.
*Smell and taste : are known as the chemical sense
For nose : receptors for gaseous molecules
For taste : on the tongue and elsewhere in the mouth respond to chemical
composition of food.
*Touch pressure, temperature ,pain : somatic receptor (receptors on the skin)
are found all over the body.
