MEM transfers S / 1.1 million to regional governments for

mining formalization

The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) transferred S / 1.1

million to nine regional governments so that they can finance
mining formalization tasks and the purchase of measurement,
monitoring and inspection equipment in their jurisdictions.
The formalization of mining is one of the primary objectives of
the MEM. Its goal for 2019 is that 22,000 miners of the 53,690
identified in the national territory have been incorporated into
the formal sector.
"The MEM seeks that the small mining producers be formalized
to set the conditions that allow them to achieve better social
conditions, since they would have access to legal security,
technical assistance, better sources of financing, while they
would work with greater care of their safety. and the
environment, "the portfolio said in a statement.
