A GD is a methodology used by a
college to gauge whether the student
has certain personality traits and/ or
skills that it desires in themselves.

Nuances Of Group discussions
• Just reiterating the cliché that a Group
discussion, or Group Discussion, as it is
commonly called, is a group process or a
team building exercise does not help
students.
• As in a football game, where you play like a
team, passing the ball to each team member
and aim for a common goal, Group
Discussion is also based on team work,
incorporating views of different team
members to reach a common goal.

• Debate is a contest, or, perhaps, like a game,
where two or more speakers present their
arguments intent on persuading one another
• Debate shows us the aspect of TEAMSPIRIT
also. It enhances the group and individual
performance. Success becomes more easier
with the help of team work.
• Team spirit plays a vital role in building the
confidence among the people.

• The way a team plays as a whole determines its
success. You may have the greatest bunch of
individual stars in the world, but if the don’t play
together,the club won’t be worth a dime.
• Team spirit helps to bring in enthusiasm. It actually
enhances the team performance.
• Team spirit helps the team to get motivated and
perform better.
TEAM SPIRIT THROUGH DAHI-HANDI
Team Spirit Through Dahi-Handi
• Human pyramid will teach students principles of
trust, risk management.
• Human pyramid in a dahi-handi event is symbolic of
team-work wherein every link is vital
• Each member has a definite role to play and each
link needs to deliver.
• There will be some at the lower end to push the
others up.
• Hence, it will teach students principles of trust, risk
management and importance of one’s contribution
towards a company’s growth, essential in the
corporate world and elsewhere,
• This event has put to test students’ dedication,
discipline, commitment and willingness to put
classroom learning of teamwork and result-oriented
approach into action with openness to learn from
unconventional sources.
• Students emphasised that the human pyramid
signifies teamwork of many towards achieving a goal
and the success depends equally on every member in
the pyramid.
EFFECTS OF MOTIVATION
• Definition of motivation varies greatly.
• Motivation has always been a puzzling area.
• Individual’s behavior is energized sustained
and directed.
• Students taking part in extra curricular
activities are highly motivated.
• Students taking part in these college
activities develops physical and mental skills
and also provides other opportunities.
• It offers a wide range of academic and non-
academic activities.
• A college magazine is published annualy.
• NSS programmes are also held.
• A student accepts responsibility and
integrates faith.
• A teacher plays a very important role.
