Milestones - 82 years of KSWA

 Formed in 1928 by Late B.G.Kher, Gandhian, freedom fighter & First Premier Chief
Minister of Bombay province/State.

 Started with Welfare activities in Education, Healthcare & Income Generation for
migrant Tanners and further extended to all poor, needy and destitute.

 1928 – 1957 –B.G.Kher gets marsh along the Mahim creek developed as Bandra
East, establishes basic amenities and welfare activities.

 1958 – 1998 –40 yrs , Several Gandhian followers of B.G.Kher run welfare
activities with commitment & Dedication.

 1998 – 2003 –Incubation of Yuva Parivartan Model by Kishor & Mrinalini Kher.

 2003 – President Dr. Abdul Kalam launches, The Yuva Parivartan Movement.

 2010 – 12 Yrs of Yuva Parivartan

Yuva Parivartan – Vision & Mission

Vision

Create opportunities for school dropouts and deprived youth to help lead
productive and socially useful lives.

Mission

To give a second chance to less educated deprived youth through wage or


self employment based on urban and rural livelihood training, provided in
partnership with stakeholders.

YP Placement & Training Agency (YPPTA)

 Founded with the conviction of recent phenomenon of deep


sourcing.

 To give a second chance to unemployed deprived youth through


appropriate placement opportunities.

 Develop relationships with Trade & Industry to find job


opportunities.

 Equip the students with work ethics and prepare them for
problems arising at work place. (e.g. :resume preparation,
workplace expectations, dressing and grooming and mock interview
sessions etc.

YP Institute for Skills Development (YPISD)

 Training & continuous Follow-up services to budding


Entrepreneurs.

 Targeting deprived communities for income generation activities.

 Major focus on School drop-outs & women from the slums to take
up the self employment related activities.

 Work for financially deprived Society through its sponsored


programme by Govt. / Semi- Govt. Departments/ Corporates.

Advance Vocational Training courses

 Fee based courses for higher income communities.

 Leveraging the existing infrastructure to help in sustainability.

 School dropouts from the poor families will continue to get free Vocational
Training.

Integrated Rural Development Program (IRDP)

 After a Needs Assessment Survey in 40 villages of Wada Taluka in


Thane district - started IRDP Program in 25 villages of Wada in
Oct ’08 and 15 villages in Bhiwandi through community
development programs.

 IRDP covers the following areas:

 Improved agricultural practices


 Water resources management
 Livestock management and Fisheries
 Women empowerment through SHG formation

 Krishi Pashu Sathis (KPS) are our representative (facilitator to


carry out rural-agricultural activities) in each village.

 Currently we have 40 KPS which we plan to increase to 100.

 To go pan India in a cost effective manner

 To scale up across multiple locations in a short period of time
