SOCIODRAMA

SOCIODRAMAS or SOCIAL
DRAMAS often focus on social or
political concerns, on how some people
affect the lives of others.

Sociodramas can be developed in class as


spontaneous (unpracticed) role playing.
In sociodrama, students dramatize
unrehearsed real problematic situations and
offer suggestions for resolutions through
their dramatic interpretations.

to the group
- Help group to learn about their social
situation
- A spontaneous role-playing
PURPOSE OF SOCIODRAMA

The main purpose of sociodrama is


to increase people’s awareness of
underlying human problems, and to
explore possibilities for action and
change.
PROCEDURE FOR SOCIODRAMA
1. Present the problem.
2. Prepare the group.
3. Choose the characters.
4. Present the activities of the actors.
5. Develop the students’ listening and
analysing skills.
6. Dramatize the situation.
7. Analyze/Discuss the situation.
8. Test.
9. Give closure.
